Above, a photo from the flood that has left much damage in my hometown, St. Johnsville, Montgomery County, NY. The Mohawk Valley and the neighboring communities of Fort Plain, Canajoharie, Dolgeville and Little Falls have been declared disaster areas by the Gov. Due to the economic conditions that plague upstate New York, Senators Schumer and Clinton are attempting to get President Bush to declare this disaster so that Federal funds will be available. Several local businesses were destroyed and can't afford to rebuild, so will close their doors.
